How caffeine actually works
While you're awake, your brain produces a molecule called adenosine. It slowly builds up and binds to receptors that signal "you're tired." Caffeine has a shape similar enough to adenosine that it can dock at the same receptors first, blocking adenosine from binding. You don't actually feel more energized — you just feel less tired. Eventually adenosine wins, the caffeine wears off, and you crash. Hence: another cup.
How to play
- Click empty receptors to dock caffeine before adenosine binds.
- Don't let more than half the receptors block out for 5 seconds.
- Drink to refill the mug (8 second cooldown).
